March 2024 Newsletter
Another year in the life of WFTR begins soon so strap in and get ready to start your engines.
A well attended and lively AGM took place at the Foresters on the 6 Feb. If you haven’t already heard, Mike stood down after 5 years of leadership. There were no volunteers for the post of GL so we are now just being looked after by the remaining committee members: Tim, Barry and Graham.
Onwards and upwards.
Coming Soon!
Upham
On 16 March is the a repeat of the run to Upham. A man cave of epic proportions, Russian trucks, cows, a vintage water pump and lunch at a local hostelry.
If you want to go book now on the Run to Upham.
This is a sample of what’s on offer:

Chartwell

The next event is the weekday run on 10 April to Chartwell, Winston Churchill’s home for many years.
It a standard day out: meet up, drive to the location, have a wander, off to the pub for lunch then back home. By all accounts it’s a fantastic place to visit. Cigars are not required.
The reason for the weekday is because it gets crazy busy at the weekends.

RLC Museum

Later on in April on the 27th we are off to the Royal Logistics Corps Museum at Worthy Down. Should be another excellent day out the discover the history of a Corps that goes back to 1896. See how they changed from the Rag And Oil Company to the Really Large Corps.

And Finally
We are looking for a volunteer to write the social scene article for inclusion in TR Action. If you have a flair for writing and want to write for WFTR please let us know. If nobody comes forward there will be nothing from WFTR in future issues of TR Action.
