February Club Night & AGM
The February 2024 WFTR club night and AGM will be at The Foresters Arms, 173 London Road, Bagshot, GU19 5DH, on 06 February 2024 from 7:30 p.m. A copy of the Agenda below. We hope as many of you as possible will come to this important meeting.
Event Report
We had a very successful Christmas Party at the Meade Hall, Crown and Cushion on 09 December last year. There were 33 in attendance and all enjoyed a nice meal, the hall ambience and company. At the end of the meal the GL gave an address and there were presentations for organising events in 2023 to, Tricia and James, Jeff and Lesley and Terry and Helen. In addition a presentation was made to Mike for his work over the last 5 years as WFTR GL for which I thank you all. The wine was excellent and I will be visiting the Vineyard in Wiltshire soon.
A number of us celebrated New Year by visiting the Phoenix Green car show on 01 Jan. There was an immense display of automobiles, tractors, steam vehicles and commercials. If you have never been put it in the diary for next year as it is a good morning out. We followed on by a relaxed lunch at the Millhouse restaurant North Warnborough.
AGM
We will elect the committee for next year at our meeting on our 06 February meeting. All current members will stand again except for myself as GL. We have no volunteers or suggestions for who is prepared to take on the role of WFTR GL at this time. This is not an ideal situation and will put us in a difficult position with the TR Register. If you cannot attend the meeting and wish for something to be considered or have a point to make do not hesitate to contact me.

8. Resolutions: That we book the Meade Hall for our 2024 Christmas lunch celebration as soon as possible to ensure we get the date we want.

Forecast of Events
Barry has done an immense amount to work putting together a very promising events schedule for this year many of which now appear on the website and are open for booking ( see: https://wftr.co.uk/wftr-events/ ). Barry will have a lot more detail to be presented at the AGM next week.
TR Register Issues
The TR Register AGM followed by a celebration dinner will be on 16 Mar at the Stratford Manor Hotel, Warwick. There will be a Register Group Leaders meeting the following day.
I have received a call to arms for Register Group volunteers to support by offering help at organised events which are summarised as follows:
The Register is seeking to encourage those who have not entered their car details onto the website to do so. Message to me was: “Hi Everyone, just a reminder, you have the facility on the members area of the website to enter your car(s) details, this information is stored on the TR Register database against your name, if you sell the car it can easily be transferred by the office to the new owner if a member or stay on the database for a record of car, it would be good to remind your members of this facility here’s the link: https://www.tr-register.co.uk/my-cars “
Summary
Thank you very much for your support over the last 5 years during which I have had a lot of fun. I am not going anywhere and intend to continue having fun as part of the WFTR Group amongst excellent company. Hanging up my GL boots will allow someone with new ideas and a fresh look to take the helm. Best wishes to all.
