Car Club Fest Newsletter

We are issuing an interim newsletter to publicise Car Club Fest from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern.

At our July Clubnight last Tuesday, Jeff Roberts put on a presentation about Carfest and all it has to offer. However for those who were unable to attend that meeting or who would like to know more about it, then the following infomation should tell you all you need to know.

Currently we have ten members from Windsor Forest attending the event and at past events they get together on the Saturday evening for a meal out. I strongly suspect the same will happen this year as it’s a great opportunity to share highlights of exploring the showground or show off the treasure found at the autojumble!

The TR Register have asked us to make all members aware of the following:

  • Based on feedback from local group meetings and in speaking with new and existing members there still seems to be a lack of understanding or awareness amongst members of what Car Club Fest is all about and what it represents to our Club.
  • In short, it is the premier event of the year for the TR Register Car Club and is a heritage going back over 50 years to the days of the International Weekend – when we were young and Malvern was the Mecca for TRs.
  • To explain more about this event, especially to new members and those who have never experienced such an event before, a dedicated website has been created which contains clips of the action from previous shows, details of this year’s programme and provides links for those wishing to participate in some of the activities at the show such as the AutoTest or to purchase tickets. It can be found at www.carclubfest.com
  • Please use the link above to learn more about this great event.

Below is a ‘sneak preview’ of the Chairman’s Chat which will appear in TR Action 364

Car Club Fest is here!
This issue should land on your doorstep (subject to postal services) just prior to Car Club Fest 2026 – the biggest and best car club event of the year. Thank you to all those members who have already bought their tickets; without you, this event would not be happening. If you have been waiting for a weather forecast before buying your tickets, then NOW is the time to buy. Don’t wait
to buy tickets at the gate: they will be more expensive, and it will take longer to sell you a ticket at the gate rather than scan a code. So wait no more, search for Car Club Fest in your favourite browser and buy your tickets using the TR Register Car Club discount code: TRR7019.

In the Club Zone, we will be joined by some amazing car clubs, including AC Cobra, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Jaguar, Jensen, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Morgan, Morris, Nissan (Datsun), Riley, Triumph, Vauxhall and VW, plus some multi-marque clubs. We will also have special guests from the Motorcycling Club (MCC) and Historic Rally Car Register. Something for everyone. There will
also be a few surprises to amaze and delight you. Enjoy interviews and presentations in our live action arena hosted by our own Wayne Scott. We will be celebrating all that is good about the car club scene in the UK.

Car Club Fest is not just a car show but a festival for the whole family so we will have an Activity Zone in and around Severn Hall, where you can try your hand at a racing simulator, a large Scalextric track and enjoy a free ride on the Dodgems. In addition, we are hosting the British Drone Racing Association’s Tiny Whoop League UK Finals. These micro indoor racing drones are fast and furious (but very safe) and will be flown by the top UK pilots, who have all qualified throughout the year, flying through LED hoops and obstacles. Come along to watch the action; you may even be given a chance to piggyback on the action by wearing some video goggles. No other drones or 5.8GHz video transmitters are allowed on site.

The Motorsport Zone will feature both Auto-Solo and Auto-Test competitions for you to not only spectate but to have a go yourself in your car. Great fun and safe for everyone. Morgan Sports Car Club are helping organise these events. Auto-Solo is designed for complete novices so anyone can have a go. Auto-Test will be more challenging. We will also have a few demonstrations of some seriously quick cars, so when you hear the noise, you know where to go. The TR Youth will also
hold a fun ‘GymCARna’, please have a go or just come along to have a good laugh. A few years ago I did it in a Transit van and won a prize for the best reversing as they did not spot the reversing camera, great fun.

The Trade Zone is where you can meet major suppliers, browse or sell second-hand parts or use the Bring ‘n Buy. This year, the Bring ‘n Buy will be a bit different, so bring a description of the part, a printed photo and your phone number, fill in a short form and post it on a wall for others to see. The buyer will contact you to arrange to see, buy and take away the part. Like eBay but all on-site. There will also be arts, crafts and fashion for you and the family.

Just in case you are wondering, yes, of course, there will be a dog show with lots of opportunities for your beloved pooch to win a prize. One of the show’s favourite activities! We will also have a birds of prey display, an extreme bike battle in the arena, plus you can book a Morgan factory tour or a coach trip to Worcester via the website. Ever fancied driving TS2? As you know, it is the first
ever RHD TR, hand-made at Banner Lane before TR production began? Look out for it over the weekend, as you might be able to get behind the wheel for a short trip around the lanes. Finally, where would a festival be without a beer tent, some food vans, a good restaurant and some great entertainment? It is all ready for you to enjoy over the weekend. Given feedback from previous events, we have made a few changes to event management. Entry will again be via the main showground entrance (Yellow gate). You will be directed into several parallel queues for your ticket to be scanned by volunteers and for you to receive the
appropriate wristband before passing through security. Hopefully this will be much quicker and easier than last time. You will then be directed to camp or park your car. Those who have booked an electrical hook-up will camp at the Blackmore campsite. Choose your spot and plug in. Please display your camping pass, received at the gate, in a prominent position so it can be verified that you have paid for electricity: we get charged, so no cheating, please. Other campers will be in the large camping area. If you don’t wish to stay up late, stay well away from the youth groups!

If travelling to Malvern is too far for you in your TR, or you can’t fit in your English Mastiff, then bring the family in your daily driver, as Car Club Fest is far more than a normal car show; it is a celebration of the cars and people who make up the UK car club scene. There is so much planned for you to take part in and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells, you’ll love it even without a TR.
Finally, I would like to thank all the volunteers who really do make this event happen; well done and thank you.

I hope you all join in the fun, see you soon in Malvern
