August 2024 Newsletter
The Beatles, Beach Boys, Madness, Chuck Berry, Modern Lovers, Bruce Springsteen and many others all sang about the same thing: driving a car. And it seems WFTR members feel the same way as they have been out and about driving their cars in all sorts of directions. Here are some of the places they went.
The Summer BBQ

Fun times on a run around Surrey followed by 6 additional horsepower and a sausage. Many thanks for an excellent day out to the concours winners: Laurence and Suzanne

An annual event and always great fun with an often interesting mix of cars whizzing round the Thames Valley. All organised with their normal efficiency by our very own Terry and Helen.

Serious Bit
For a number of years your committee has been working hard in the background organising a year long schedule of events for us all to enjoy.
However, individuals circumstances change and your committee have increasing concerns about their ability to keep producing the current level of events throughout the coming year and beyond. In simple terms we need more active support from our members to help us deliver the schedule of events that we have all become accustomed to.
If anyone feels that they can commit some time to helping organise and run events or ideally, if you feel that you would like to become a member of the committee then please let us know.
It would be a shame if the current yearly event schedule were to significantly decrease over the next few years.
We also need someone to take over running the website as Graham will be standing down at the AGM after 11 years of doing the job. It’s not complicated or difficult and full training will be provided.
Long Weekend In Wales
Summer next year is a long time away, but several of us have booked for a return trip to Llanerchindda Farm in Wales from 13 – 16 June 2025. There are 6 places available and unless they are booked by us they will go to other non WFTR folk from the general public. The reason we have booked so far ahead is that this is necessary as they are so popular. This is not to be confused with the Wales trip this year being organised by Barry and Jenny.
