The Bluebell Run
This was a superbly organised event based around the country lanes of Gloucester, Monmouthshire and Herefordshire using a Tulip road book. Total event mileage was 122 so plenty of driving and navigation called for. There were indeed still Bluebells out in many of the route waypoints and the scenery was lovely, especially so through the Forest of Dean.
Originally there were 7 WFTR cars and 14 booked in to attend the event and for our 2 night stay over having early registered to participate. Such was the popularity of this event all 60 places were sold out within 8 hours of the entry list opening. Two cars did not depart from home location, one car made it, but was unable to participate, so 4 cars started and 3 completed the course.
Notwithstanding all of the difficulties such as traffic jams on a boiling hot Friday pm during the run down to the hotel in Monmouth we all had a lovely weekend. The warm weather endured for a pleasant run home on Sunday.
