Club Night

The March WFTR Club night will be at The Foresters Arms, 173 London Road, Bagshot, GU19 5DH, on 07 March from 7:30 p.m. During the evening Tim Bartholomew will be doing a presentation of his working model steam plant that he built during lockdown. This is a masterpiece of engineering and was not built from a kit, but parts he assembled to make it look right and work to perfection. See below for a taste of what is to come.

Planned Events for 2023

Events continue to be added to the website and you should keep an eye out for new additions (do not forget to drill down into categories on the top bar as well). Over the next 3 months we have the following planned:

26 March – Stock car racing at Aldershot. We will not be taking our TR’s, but hope to have a nice afternoon out potentially followed by lunch at this fun event. Register at: https://wftr.co.uk/event/stock-car-racing-aldershot/

10 April – Spring Vehicle Meet and Jumble at Newbury show ground (non WFTR event, but if enough sign up we will organise a run to suit). See: https://wftr.co.uk/event/spring-vehicle-meet-autojumble/

23 April – Drive it Day at Amberley museum being organised and sponsored by our group. We now have a total of 68 cars registered and this figure is increasing all of the time. If you have not already let the Committee know you are willing to help onsite to coordinate the running of this event then let us know soonest. See: https://wftr.co.uk/event/drive-it-day-2023/

13 May – Fish and Chip run. For registration see: https://wftr.co.uk/event/fish-chip-run-2/

Gazebos

We have received no offers for the two serviceable gazebos and now are therefore offering them for free. See below for what they look like erected (without the sides which come with them as well). Let us know if you are interested.

Communications

WFTR Whats App Group – This is a useful group, currently 22 members strong, for quick communications about events etc and speedy access to help with car related problems. If you are not yet part of the group and would like to join please let me know or mention it to Barry at the next club night and he will get you started.

TR Register Issues

On the 11 March I will be representing you all at the TR Register Group Leaders meeting at Gaydon. Let me know if you have any important issues to raise at the meeting.

TR Register AGM will be run at Gaydon on 16 April. See: https://www.tr-register.co.uk/article/2023/01/0312/Calling-notice-TR-Register-Annual-General-Meeting-2023

TR Register Strategy – Thank you for all of the members who took the time to contribute to the feedback on this important work. I have condensed all of the comments and observations into a single submission which I have sent to the Register. It was complimented on for its content by each one of the Strategy Team.

Committee

We publish minutes for each of our monthly committee meetings which can be seen at: https://wftr.co.uk/wftr-committee/committee-meeting-minutes/

Summary

Let us hope for a fulfilling year from the TR’ing perspective. There is plenty of choice for activities with more being added each week. If you have any ideas or feedback then please add them in the comments box below. We always respond.
