Newsletter January 2023
Club Night
First of all the Committee and I wish you a Happy New year. We hope that you will continue to enjoy Club Nights at which, for 2022 attendance was an average of 23 (with a high point of 39). The January WFTR Club night will be at The Foresters Arms, 173 London Road, Bagshot, GU19 5DH, on 03 January from 7:30 p.m. We hope you will come along and help us put the finishing touches to the event planner for 2023 (more about this below).
Notable Events
Our Christmas Lunch and AGM held at Windlesham Golf Club with 43 in attendance was very successful. The 2022 Committee agreed to stand for another year and were correspondingly voted in by members present. Two important motions were also voted on.

Planned Events for 2023
We had 18 respondents to the event survey which Barry designed for members to determine which events for 2023 are supported. Although this is a very low number we will base the events list on what has been asked for in the survey. The results can be seen in the representation below. Should anyone who has overlooked completion of the survey wish to do so now, then please click on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BVJRH77 and complete. It is simple and quick to do. Your new Committee wishes to provide the best possible range of events to suit all tastes.

It was emphasised that one of the most important events for 2023 in the WFTR calendar is Drive it Day. It is our Group responsibility to organise this day and I encourage any of you who have not volunteered to assist your Committee with organising this event on at Amberley Museum to do so as soon as you are able. The event entry web site is now open for payment and registration and can be found through the link in the superb flyer designed by Barry Green below. It will also appear on our events list on the WFTR site.

I know there were several members who were disappointed that the Wales weekend in June (see: https://wftr.co.uk/event/long-weekend-in-wales/ ) quickly sold out, but they were eager to attend. As promised I have made enquiries with the host (see: https://cambrianway.com ) and have sought out places for another WFTR Group to attend. They currently have availability on 25 – 27 August 23 (6 rooms – 2 double and 4 twins) and also on 28 – 30 Aug (8 rooms – 3 double, 4 twins and 1 single). Should there be members who wish to take up this opportunity to go on what appears to be a superb trip to Wales then let me know soonest so we can start to make a plan. If I have interest then I will ask Barry to post it up on the website and ask for the rooms to be earmarked plus contact the hosts.
AGM
The aim and subsequent presentations were conducted successfully and swiftly after lunch and the minutes can be seen at: https://wftr.co.uk/wftr-committee/committee-meeting-minutes/. If there are any comments, feedback or corrections in respect of the minutes then do let me know.
TR Register Matters
Hopefully you will all have seen the TR Register e-newsletter issued on 23 December confirming that there will a MG & Triumph 100 Celebration on 10 and 11 June at Silverstone. Also a Triumph TR@70 Celebration on 11 – 13 August 2023 at Bath and West Showground Shepton Mallet which will be the Register International for 2023. For both events see https://www.tr-register.co.uk/event/2023/06/3112/Triumph-Centenary-Festival-at-Silverstone.
I would like to welcome two new members allocated to our Group in December by the Register who I have already called and written to. I hope they can join us at Club Night or an event soon. I will not name them for GDPR reasons.
Summary
I hope to see as many of you at Club Night or some time after. Let us hope for another enjoyable year in our TR’s and together as a Group.

Great ‘newsy’ newsletter Mike. Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
