December Club Night
The December WFTR club night will be at The Foresters Arms, 173 London Road, Bagshot, GU19 5DH, on 05 December from 7:30 p.m.
January Club Night
There will be no January 2024 WFTR club night. This has been cancelled because a large number of us will have met for lunch after the New Years day Phoenix Car meet as well as at the Christmas lunch.
Event Report
We decided to try a different venue for the annual WFTR skittles tournament this year, so one chilly Friday evening 17 of us met up at the Frog and Wicket in Eversley for an evening of fun. Our first game was ladies v men, there was an odd number so Tim was volunteered to play on both teams, (he was renamed Tina to avoid confusion). The ladies won this match accompanied by shouts of encouragement from Suzanne “straight down the middle, ladies”. We paused for a well earned meal of burgers and chips before playing a game of “Last Man Standing” Barry and Laurence were the last two remaining and Barry finally won the match. The evening was enjoyed by everyone and those who were putting up the skittles had a good work-out as well.

Planned Events
01 Jan – Phoenix car meet along the A30 near Hartley Witney, followed by lunch at the Mill House North Warnborough. See; https://wftr.co.uk/event/phoenix-car-meet-lunch-new-years-day-2024/. I shall be shortly asking for menu selections so if there are any more thinking of coming along then you should register now before I close the event for registrations. We currently have 28 registered for the lunch. Here is a picture of folk at last years event.

09 Dec – Christmas lunch at the Meade Hall at the Crown and Cushion near Blackwater where registration is now closed and we have a good size group to have a memorable party. Menu selections have been made and if any of you have seating preferences then please e-mail me soonest so I can arrange to suit your requests. The tables will be arranged with 3 across each end and 14 down each side so we can all see and speak with one another more easily.

Summary
A lot of effort is being expended on next years programme and it is looking promising with several events open for registration already. Here is hoping it proves to be another fun year TR wise with good attendance at club nights and events. I am sure we are going to see out the year in style at the lovely Meade Hall and then celebrate the New Year in style at the Phoenix car meet followed by lunch. On behalf of all of us on the committee we wish you a Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year 2024.
Thanks Mike.
Well done to the whole team for all that you have done during the year. Hopefully we will be more active in 2024
My appreciation also for the efforts our dedicated committee exert in trying to keep everyone happy….. you have done a grand job!
