February 2025 Newsletter
Not long now until Valentine’s Day. For those who aren’t sure exactly when, it’s the 14th of Feb. Or if you are in the USA it’s Feb 14th. Need to be quick as POTUS may well be renaming it to Trump Day.
Anyway, it’s the time of the year where you can express your love to your special one and maybe present gifts or even make it a day out to remember. I plan to give her a bit of a clean and polish and should the weather be fine go out for a spin. The wife can come as well if she wants.
But now onto the news. Very little to report.
AGM – 7 Jan 2025
The WFTR AGM was held on 7 Jan 2025 at The Foresters Arms Bagshot.
Three new committee members were voted in:
- Dave Hankin (membership secretary)
- Andy McLaren (trainee social secretary)
- Darren White (trainee treasurer)
Still no volunteer to be Group Leader….

2025 Events
The calendar is filling up already so make sure you register so as not miss out on the fun.
Phyllis Tuckwell
One repeat event to take note of is Phyllis Tuckwell. Hosted again by Robert and Tanya Lewis, you need to register early as it gets booked up quickly.

Not the Cream Tea Run
We have also had to change the date of the Not the Cream Tea Run as it clashed with the Printemps Run. The new date is 1 Jun. If you have already registered there is nothing more to do. If you can no longer attend let the organiser know.

The Christmas Party
Isn’t happening this year. The Meade Hall is already booked up in December but is cheap as chips in January 2026. So we have booked to hall for 10th January 2026 and will call it the WFTR New Year Party. Michelle Smith has kindly offered to organise the party.
Club Night
This month there will be a short talk about chickens. We have no idea if it’s about how to cook them, paint them, look after them or breed them. Come along and find out this Tuesday at the Foresters Arms Bagshot.

Summary
We are now well into 2025 and there are plenty of events on the website for you to consider and book. The committee is stable with an injection of new enthusiasm, club nights are always well attended and great fun. So all set for another enjoyable TR’ing year.
