Visit to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum plus lunch on board The Lightship

A run through the Surrey and Hampshire countryside to visit the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport.
It’s a maritime museum tracing the international history of submarine development and particularly the history of the Royal Navy Submarine Service from the navy’s first submarine, Holland 1, to the latest nuclear-powered Vanguard-class submarines.
Also included is a self tour of HMS Alliance, the only remaining Second World War era submarine. We can explore the decks and narrow corridors and even take a look through the original periscope!
Lunch will follow on board The Lightship which is now used as a floating restaurant. It’s berthed in Haslar Marina, which is adjacent to the Submarine Museum.
Group ticket cost is £27 per person (a significant reduction on the usual £51 cost) and has to be paid in advance.
Also, in order to secure the lunch table reservation a deposit of £10 per person is required, which, of course will be credited back off your lunch bill on the day.
The meeting place is the car park opposite Jane Austen’s house in Chawton GU34 1SB at 09:45 for a 10am departure. Lunch is already provisionally booked for 14:00hrs.
