Run to Kempton Park Pumping Station

We have decided to resurrect a run to Kempton Park steam pumping station that we first held in 2015.
We plan to take a convoluted scenic route to get to Kempton Steam Museum keeping off the main roads. The 40 mile route will include a famous landmark, country lanes and getting up close and personal with the River Thames. No stops are planned along the way as the drive is relatively short and we will have more time at the venue.
We have negotiated a concessionary entry ticket rate of £9 per head. To simplify payment to the museum this event will be pre paid.
Refreshments are available on site all day, including home-made sausage rolls and cakes. You may wish to bring your own picnic for lunch.
The cars will be parked on the forecourt opposite the museum on the paved area in front of the building.
The big triple expansion steam pump engine will be in steam at specific times throughout the day.
There are also free, up close, guided tours of the second triple expansion engine that is not in steam.
The first steaming is normally around 11:30am.
A narrow-gauge railway will also be running at an additional cost of £4 per ride (payable on the day).
It should be a great day out. Standing beside an absolute monster of an engine while it is running is definitely not to be missed.
