Greenham Common Control Tower

3 Nov 2019

Greenham Control Tower opened in Summer 2018.  Their goal is to tell the story of Greenham Common whilst supporting and cooperating with local organisations for the benefit of the community.  The schedule of events includes specialist talks on topics relating to Greenham Common both past and present.  They have a museum and feature temporary exhibitions.  Entry to the Control Tower is free and tickets for their events sold at affordable prices. There is a cafe where we can get a light lunch or some refreshments or we may do something more should members decide they wish to do so.  See the website identified in this notice for more info.  On the day:

1.  Assemble Monachus Lane Car Park Hartney Wintney 0900 for an 0930hrs start.
2.  Simple non back lane run of 23 miles in 41 minutes to Greenham Common.
3.  During the visit we will:
a.  Look around the Tower (hopefully we may have a guide – tbc).
b.  Morning coffee in the cafe (open in the Tower).
c.  For those minded to take a short walk out to what was the old runway to do so (bring footwear and suitable wet weather gear).

4.  Depart Greenham Common Control Tower just after midday and if all or some are agreeable I have booked a table for 12 at the Red House Highclere (no need to pre order).  Please let me know if you would like to attend the lunch so I can confirm numbers.  Red House website is:
