Crossness Pumping Station
23 Jun 2024
We have seen how to get water into London at Kempton. Now it’s time to see to get rid of the effluent.
Built in 1865, the Crossness Pumping Station is a Victorian masterpiece. Not just the working beam engine, the whole building a quite magnificent.
The day out will begin at the usual place on the Hogs Back then a 70 mile run to Crossness. After exploring the museum we will depart for Stanhope Arms at Brasted for a late lunch then a run home at your leisure.
You will need to book your visit on the Crossness website, I will let you know when the booking slot opens.
Should be a great day out.
