August Club Night
We had an excellent Club Night at our new meeting place: The De Havilland Arms in Fleet the week after the European Cup football final. We were made most welcome by the staff and there is plenty of room to park the TR’s and have a chat around them too (pictures below). We will be holding our Aug (and hopefully all future) club nights at the De Havilland from 7:30p.m. so make every effort you can to come along. Just for clarity the location is: The Key, Elvetham Heath, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 1HA.

Event Report
Five WFTR members in 3 cars went to visit the Isle of man from 07 – 17 Sep and I am informed had a great time. We were invited to join the Thames Valley tour which is a road book event using tulips shared between Mini’s and TR’s. We had 15 WFTR members out in that sunny weather. Apparently it was a good day out, but a tad hot!
Now that we are able to run events and on an unlimited basis we welcome ideas and organisers to keep the event calendar topped up to ensure we make up for a lack of TR use over the last 16 months.

We need to be planning next years activities now and hope to get feedback from members as to what they would like to do: type of event i.e. car show, long run, short run etc. etc. Let Barry Green know through the contact form.
New payment method
We have purchased a Sum Up reader, which is a tap card payment machine for use at Club Nights for the raffle and other payments. This will negate the need for members to carry loose change to pay for tickets. The machine can also be set up to take any other payment header for example the BBQ, Christmas lunch etc. A really good tool and well done Tim B for getting it up and running.
Summary
We are hoping that now Covid restrictions have been lifted we can get back to regular events with more members attending. From attendance at the first Club Night since lockdown this certainly looks promising.
