Our route of approximately 46 miles taking us along country as well as main roads.

We will arrive at Fort Nelson about 10.30am and plan to leave after the gun firing at 1pm.

Fort Nelson is a fully restored Victorian fort on top of Portsdown Hill overlooking the Solent.

You can explore 19 acres of ramparts, outer fortifications, secret tunnels and ammunitions bunkers.

Some of the oldest and biggest artillery guns in the world are here.  There is a daily firing at 1pm.

A café offers snacks such as soup, baked potatoes, cakes etc as well as beverages.

We have a table booked for lunch at 2pm in a nearby pub.  Pre-ordering your food is not essential.

If you would like to join us for the meal OR NOT please let us know so we can arrange for the right number of seating in the pub.
