The Weald & Downland says: "Come and discover rescued rural buildings set in a beautiful landscape, which tell the stories of the men, women and children who lived and worked in them over a 950-year period. Enjoy the museum’s 40 acre site and visit our collection of historic buildings - we have 50 to explore and many of our exhibit houses are furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors."
The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum is in the beautiful Downland village of Singleton. Most will have passed it en route to Goodwood but our drive will take a different route to the norm and will pass through beautiful Hampshire and West Sussex countryside arriving at approximately 11 a.m. Have a walk, coffee, visit the fascinating displays and enjoy its stunning setting. Full details of this great venue can be seen at its website: wealddown.co.uk.
We will then head off at 1.30 p.m. for a five minute drive to our lunch destination: The Fox Goes Free at Charlton where we have a 2 pm lunch booking: thefoxgoesfree.com . The “Fox" is in a stunning setting with great food which will hopefully provide a fantastic end to our July run.
A lunch pre-order will be required in due course and further details, menu for pre-selection together with start time/place will follow.
