Relaxed Run through Hants, Berks, & Wilts to Sunday Lunch

A route carded run of approx 70 miles with coffee stop and culminating in Sunday lunch out.

We will meet at Hook railway station (toilet in the Raven Hotel if station toilets closed) for an easy start down the A30 before veering off onto backroads as we make our way via Overton followed by a coffee stop on the way to Combe Gibbet West of Newbury.  We will then run West to Shalbourne then head South East to the B3048 towards Fullerton near Stockbridge to have lunch at the Mayfly pub on the River Test (see - https://www.mayflyfullerton.co.uk ).  The intention being to have a relaxed morning and lunch out.  Let us hope the weather is kind to us and that we all enjoy it.  I shall monitor conditions to ensure if there are any weather related road issue I can let you all know of any impact.

MEETING POINT AND TIME DETAILS

Meet at Hook Railway Station (Station Approach / Road, Hook RG27 9HS) from 08:30a.m., first 3 cars away at 09:00a.m. Last car away at 09:15a.m. If station loo's are not open you should be able to use the Raven Hotel next door.  We will run in groups of 3 cars and all will be given an easy to follow route map.  We will have a coffee stop at Yew Tree Nursery, Ball Hill, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0NG 01635 255250 between 10:15a.m and 11:00 hours dependant on start time of your group.  We are booked for lunch at The Mayfly Pub (see above from 12:15 [ahead of the Sunday lunch rush!])
