Bluebell Run

10 - 12 May 2024

Drive through picturesque parts of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire & the Welsh Marches.

Instead of participating in the Historic Rally Car Register Valley & Villages tour this year we thought we would do a different event of the same type. Therefore we intend to take part in the Ross & District Motor Club Bluebell Run.

Event details are: The run has no competitive element and is an opportunity for you to drive your classic car through picturesque countryside with a total route distance of 120 miles.

The start is at Hopewell Colliery and Working Mine at Cannop near Coleford in the Forest of Dean where there is a Cafe for food, drink and signing on. You will be given an easy to follow tulip book to take you along our meandering route through the Forest of Dean, to a stop for coffee at a garden centre. Then the roads will lead you through the classic Herefordshire lanes for a ‘baguette style lunch’ at a well known brewery. After lunch the route continues through Herefordshire, and eventually crosses the River Wye, finally to Symonds Yat for a substantial hot two course meal at The Paddocks Hotel where you can enjoy the gardens and river views. Morning coffee and biscuits, lunch and a warm 2 course evening meal are included in the price, breakfast is at your own expense.

We will drive to the area the day before on 10th May, staying at the Monmouth Premier Inn, Portal Road, Monmouth, Monmouthshire NP25 5FP. Tel 0333 234 6455 for two nights driving home on the Sunday 12th.

For those wishing to run as a Group on 10th April we will depart from Newlyns Farm Shop RG27 8NN at 11:00 a.m. on a non motorway route of 109 miles.  We will have a quick stop at a fuel station on the A419 and then an hour for lunch from 1:30 p.m. at The Fairview Gardener GL2 8AR for a 1 hour lunch stop.  Then a quick 35 minute drive to our hotel in Monmouth to arrive for early as possible book in at 3:00 p.m. I can book a supper meal at Mokos Mexican Restaurant from 7:00p.m. if all are agreeable.

The event is not yet open for entries, but you should monitor the Ross and District Motor Club Website at:- http://www.rossmotorsports.co.uk/events/bluebell-run-8 to be able to book as soon as it opens. If you want to be notified when they open for bookings please CLICK HERE
